Enroll in a monthly package now to learn to ride effectively and safely for life. POM Equestrian Academy teaches students to:
Correctly and comfortably balance on the horse and engage their core.
Learn how to control and aid the horse with their legs.
Develop independent balance, control of the horse with their legs, and the ability to shape and balance the horse through correct mechanics, bringing the horse into attention and connection.
Learn to shape, connect and collect the horse.
Gain control of the suppleness, shape, and balance and direct the movement of the horse.
Develop their ability to manage timing, energy, attention, and trust through groundwork sessions.
Gain the ability to control the horse's balance and direction through lateral movements and obstacles.

We’re proud to offer a convenient online payment process. If you prefer to pay with check or cash, please contact us.
All new students begin with a 30-day Launch Package, which includes four private lessons. This introductory series allows us to assess your skill level, introduce you to our training system, and determine appropriate next steps.
After the Launch Package, students may continue by enrolling in one of our monthly Academy Memberships, which are billed every 30 days through an automated payment system. All membership enrollments require 30 days’ notice to discontinue and exit auto-pay.
All packages provide between 4-12 sessions to be used within a 30-day period. Lessons are scheduled through Acuity Scheduling, offering flexibility for students to choose their own riding times.

First, Get Started with a Launch Package
The introduction to our program is achieved through Launch Packages, giving all riders a month-long assessment to determine which instructors, horses, and programs are needed to advance their current knowledge, skills, and confidence.
After Your Launch is Complete, Evolve Within Our Academy Packages
After Launch, students have the option to enroll in POM Academy. This provides continuity for the student, horse and instructor. Through monthly lessons, our three instructors engage students at all levels in a structured and continuous learning curriculum.

We know the value of learning horsemanship and equitation in community. Riding camps offer ample outdoor time, physical skill building, and group learning through stations. Families can share the incredible experience of horses with each other.
Launch Packages
Riding becomes fun when we feel confident about our journey.
POM improves outcomes through structured training which is tailored to the specific needs or issues of the horse or rider. Whether we need to address confusion, fears or a lack of direction, POM will enhance understanding using targeted exercises. Private sessions are best suited to competition preparation, to resolve fear issues, or to clarify the learning process at all stages.
How it works:
All riders, starting at the age of 5 years old, can enroll in Launch.
Depending on the student's need for leadline, lunge-line, and advanced horses and techniques, students are paired with an appropriate instructor for their level.
During Launch, all lessons are private.
Depending on the goals of each student, instructors prepare them for group, family, advanced, or groundwork sessions.

Evolve Within our Academy Membership
Continuous learning results in success. Through our Academy Membership, POM instructors build comprehensive understanding with students on key topics for rider development: equitation, exercises, movements, aids and horse behavior. Learning is holistic and appropriate based on the student’s age and abilities.

First Time Rider Academy Membership
Building the correct foundation for the rider's seat, balance and aids creates long term success. Incorrect posture can create safety issues, miscommunication with the horse, and exercise related injuries. It’s like putting too much weight on one side of a scale, eventually, the scale becomes unbalanced. We teach riders to ride from a position of natural balance and strength. We use exercises to eliminate bracing and compensation. Balancing properly on a large moving object requires specific mechanical alignment. Similar to the athletic stance taught in martial arts, riders need to learn to sit on the horse in core alignment for safety and comfort. Too often and unnecessarily beginners rely on the reins to maintain balance. Not only does this upset the horse but it’s a recipe for disaster when you add speed or a spook. A rider who is leaning on the reins is unable to steer properly. By addressing common positional faults and giving riders on long term body position strategy, we open the door to advancement.

Horsemanship and framing horse behavior
Groundwork and horsemanship training provides necessary skills for understanding and training horse behavior. This knowledge helps both horses and riders to move away from trying to overpower or trick the horse. Horses can problem solve, seek relaxation, and crave safe environments and posture. Our system aligns with current understanding and best practices, changing and evolving the bond between horse and rider in a permanent way. We use proven strategies and techniques to address stress in the horses - this will change your relationship and experience riding horses for your lifetime. Our system creates a thinking and problem-solving rider - it’s a concrete way to grow in this sport! Transferable to other disciplines and highly successful.

Boarding Memberships
Horses flourish at POM.
We maximize wellness for the horse. On-site staff utilize a lifetime of horsemanship experience while catering to each horse based on their needs. The POM facility offers an indoor and regulation size outdoor arena with viewing deck, individual or small group turnout with automatic waterers, medical paddocks, a heated tack room, dedicated grooming areas, hot and cold wash stall, and a serene environment for both horse and rider. Customizable accommodations include extended turnout hours, free choice hay, herd management, multiple hay varieties, and 4 meals per day. Available 24/7 and on the property POM’s care team has managed performance horses for many years. We value our relationships with the region's top service providers to help us optimize soundness and health.

Peace of Mind Equestrian camps offer ample outdoor time, physical skill building, and group learning through stations. Each camp day will include a structured lesson to safely and effectively engage each student at their own level. Out of the saddle time expands on every aspect of horse care. Stations focus on herd dynamics, proper grooming, horse nutrition, equipment and tack, stable management, and safe barn etiquette. Our excellent instructors engage small groups. Fun activities and crafts round out each day!
Training and caring for horses is a full-time lifestyle. We do it because we are passionate about a life with these unique creatures. We crave the smell of the barn, the manual activities, and the peaceful existence with horses. If you feel the same way, these programs are for you!

If you have ridden for years but are craving more out of your riding, this camp is for you. We will emphasize riding fundamentals, confidence, posture, and groundwork. Our holistic methods are rooted in POM-proven training techniques that go beyond standard riding clinics and incorporate yoga, breathwork, and other cross-discipline approaches. You will leave this camp with new perspectives, skills, intent, and goals for your riding future.

Why Obstacles?
POM schooling obstacle courses are a must-do whether you compete in working equitation or not. Your horse will benefit from applied exercises for exposure, lateral work, confidence, technical foot work, bending, and changes of direction.
No prior experience necessary. Participants under 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Group and family lessons deliver learning acceleration in multiple ways. Feeling, watching, and directing happen all at once in this format. Once riders are competent in managing a horse on the perimeter of the arena, group sessions add to the fun and community for the horses and riders. Group sessions simulate a competition environment and herd dynamics. Through the confidence, independence, and precision developed here, riders ensure their skills are well rounded and functional. Families can share the incredible experience of horses with each other. Whether you are planning a family vacation, want the whole family to achieve basic riding aptitude or are preparing to purchase a family horse, these sessions will step up your game.
